Aspirants for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) should apply through the Civil Services (Preliminary). No separate application form exists for the IFS. However, there are a few things that aspirants should know before registering for IFS.

1) Candidate must satisfy all the educational requirements set by the Commission to become eligible for IFS. To proceed to the second stage of the IFS (Main) examination, candidates must register for the Civil Services (Preliminary) examination and qualify in the screening test. 

2) A detailed application form will be available on the official website for qualified candidates in the preliminary round. The IFS Main Examination is scheduled for November 21, 2021. However, the Civil Services (Main) examination will be held from September 17, 2021, onwards.

1) Physical Criteria: Applicants must fulfil the physical parameters required for admission to the Indian Forest Service Examination. To check the detailed rules and regulations, candidates should refer to the IFS official notification. 

2) Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India, Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling there. A person of Indian origin, individuals relocated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and countries in East Africa such as Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam. They come to India in order to settle permanently. An eligibility certificate from the Government of India should be produced for candidates belonging to categories b, c, d, and e.

Most of the state centres in India will hold the examination, such as Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, etc. The number of candidates assigned to each canter will be limited, with the exception of Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata, and Nagpur, where candidates will be allocated according to the “first-apply-first-allot” principle.

Also eligible are candidates preparing to take their degree examination (with prescribed subjects). Upon qualifying based on the results of the written part of the examination, candidates must also submit their details of their application form to be filled out at that time along with proof that they passed the required examination.

Former Service Members, including Commissioned Officers and Enlisted Personnel who have served at least five years in the military and have been released: Up to five years; Enlisted Personnel: Up to five years. Armed forces personnel who receive a certificate from the Ministry of Defence that they are eligible to apply for civil employment and will be released after three months for selection: Blind, deaf-mute, and orthopedically handicapped personnel: Up to ten years.
